British Forces Brunei Headquarters Corona Virus Update - 21 March

Due to the impact of Corona Virus the decision has been taken by Field Army to delay the Unit Move by 12 months. Therefore, 2RGR will remain in place until Summer 21. Please direct these questions to your various Chains of Command who will endeavour to answer them. A great deal of planning now needs to occur to ensure everything is in place to support both battalions, the Garrison and the wider Brigade of Gurkhas. As the various decisions and plans are made we will keep everyone informed.
In accordance with Bruneian Ministry of Health Legislation, with Immediate Effect, the Chautari restaurant will only be open for takeaway meals and drinks. BFB Service Personnel, Dependants, Contractors, and Civilians are NOT to congregate in Chautari’s and consume all food and drink outside the premises. This restriction will be in place until further notice.
In accordance with Bruneian Ministry of Health Legislation, with Immediate Effect, the Patio Club is closed. This restriction will be in place until further notice.
Mess Facilities In line with Bruneian Ministry of Health Legislation, all mess living out members are not permitted dine-in or drink-in the GOM, GWOSM, RGR WOSM, and Cpls Mess’s. This does not in any way affect living in members’ access to mess facilities.
British Forces Brunei Headquarters’ has not taken these decisions lightly, however as a community we must be in line with Bruneian Government policy and intent. We will immediately review these restrictions once the legislation is lifeted.
