BFPO Update - Important International & EU Mail Import/Export Changes
Now that the UK has formally left the European Union there will be some impacts on the use of the BFPO service that we all use over the course of 2021. These are explained below.

Use of BFPO to Operate a Business Customers who operate a business overseas for personal gain are not authorised to use the BFPO facilities to forward or receive mail connected with said business. The MOD pays for the transportation of mail to and from overseas by air and surface means. Allowing a customer use of the BFPO system to operate a business for personal gain would constitute an abuse of public money. Individuals who are authorised to operate business overseas, are to be advised that they should use local civilian post offices to receive or send goods connected with their business, whereby full international rates of postage will be paid. Wherever possible individuals should use a local civilian post office or courier company to ensure the full international rates are applied.
BFPO11 (Brunei) Change of Opening Hours Effective from Monday 11 January, 2021, the post office will be operating at the following timings: Monday - Friday 0830 - 1130 & 1230 - 1500
Inbound and Outbound Mail
BFPO London will dispatch Mail to Brunei via DHL every MON, WED, FRI.
Next dispatch from Brunei to London is Sat 16th Jan therefore any Mails going back to UK need to be in the Post office by Fri 15th Jan.
Notable Price Increases from 01 Jan 21
1st class stamp from £0.76 to £ 0.85.
2nd class stamp from £0.65 to £0.66.
1st class large stamp from £1.15 to £1.29.
2nd class large stamp from £0.88 to £0.96.
1st class signed for stamp from £2.06 to £2.25 2nd class from £1.95 to £2.06.
1st class UK guaranteed (special delivery) from £6.70 to £6.85.
1st class Small parcel up to 1kg from £3.70 to £3.85. 2nd class from £3.10 to £3.20.
1st class small parcel up to 2kg no change £5.57. 2nd class from £3.10 to £3.20.
NOTE FOR UK GUARANTEED: Customers may use their own envelopes, but must be advised that if sending Money or jewellery ( as defined by Royal Mail ) they must use UK Guaranteed prepaid envelopes £7.65 if they want to receive compensation should the item be lost or damaged.
Using UK Guaranteed envelopes with HM Forces Mail
1. Two sizes of Royal Mail UK Guaranteed envelopes are available C4 and C5.
2. Both envelopes are £7.65 and offer compensation up to £500.
3. Both envelopes are prepaid to the same weight-500g.
4. Excess postage is payable for items above 500g, or for compensation cover higher than £500.
